A Meiji bronze vase of ovoid form with long tapered neck and flared rim decorated with mixed soft metals including gold and silver. A finely sculpted scene of wisteria and bamboo surround the vase. Inlayed key fret pattern highlights the rim. Raised flared foot.

The mark of JOMI EISUKE II (1839-1899) on the base. Joni Eisuke was a master craftsman, his works were exhibited and won prizes in many international exhibitions in the late nineteenth century, including Philadelphia 1876, Paris 1878, 1889 and 1900, Chicago 1893, St. Louis 1904, and London 1910.
